The farm, then 80 acres, was purchased in 1939 to grow peppermint. In 1959 the family lost their crops to flood and frost and decided to transition to hogs. Today they own over 120 acres of certified organic land. Heritage breeds of Gloucester Spot and American Spot are bred as well as Duroc hogs. They are fed organic grains grown on the farm. The sows are never housed in stalls or crates. They have access to deep bedding in the winter and fresh air and pastures in the summer. USDA Certified Organic and GMO-Free with no growth hormones or antibiotics ever used.
