Since 1993, Tantré Farm has been supplying organic fruit and produce to the Ann Arbor area from their farm located in Chelsea, Michigan. Richard Andres, Deb Lentz, and their daughter Ariana, along with help from seasonal workers and interns, have grown Tantré Farm into 115 acres of wetland, woods, and sandy-loam fields.
"Our goal is to be mindfully engaged in the simple work of the farm and to make sure the food we grow is healthy for us and the environment," says Richard. "Another part of our mission is to provide experiential education by working as a community, to give people a chance to learn what it means to work the land and to grow healthy food."
Tantré's fruit crops include strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, pears, and melons. They grow about 80 to 100 varieties of vegetables and a small variety of herbs and flowers. In addition, Tantré Farm is also home to a dog, some cats, a small flock of chickens, a few pigs, and a small herd of dairy cows.
Tantré Farm sells their produce through CSA shares, at various local stores, restaurants, at the Ann Arbor and Chelsea Farmers Markets, and now through Michigan Farm to Family! We'll carry their seasonal produce as it is available. Eating local, organic and seasonally-grown produce is great for the environment and offers you a variety of fresh options.
