Roasted cacao beans that are crushed are called Nibs. Nibs are roasted, of course, never above 118 degrees, keeping with raw status. They are crunchy, bitter, and have a very deep chocolaty taste that so many love. Speaking of LOVE, Nibs are even higher in Magnesium, fiber, potassium, antioxidants and phenylethylamine which release endorphins that make us feel content, alert and give a sense of well being. It’s why cacao is known as the “Love Drug”.
